Framework

Located in Vancouver’s vibrant Chinatown, Framework has 61 units and 3 retail units. Drawing on the variation of parapet heights and the narrow building frontages of Chinatown, Framework was designed to compliment the vernacular architecture of the existing neighbourhood context.

As part of the development, a historical garage and service station that had fallen into disrepair on the site was meticulously documented prior to its removal. The characteristic elements of the garage were then replicated and installed along the building’s south facade with a plaque documenting the site’s former history.
