Montessori Day Care Society - 10th and Maple

Situated along the Arbutus greenway within the 10th and Maple project, the daycare provides 37 licensed childcare spaces. The facility is designed for two separate spaces for each childcare program: toddler and preschooler. Daycare spaces are purpose-designed and scaled for children having their own room or rooms that are fully furnished and equipped. The distinct daycare form provides a strong base to the South-East of the East building. Along the perimeter of the daycare are panels of coloured artwork, titled: Pick-up sticks. Design of the daycare facade at grade is reflective of the architectural expression of the overall project: a strong base with framed views in and out. Translucent coloured vertical accents at grade along with glass canopy offer a high level of natural light to filter throughout the indoor activity spaces. Controlled double door access provides further connection of indoor and outdoor spaces.
